Elsa Poe arrives on the stage and asks Doc to escort her to the Long Branch. Bob Sullins and Art McLane argue over who gets served first by Quint. Charlie Ross and Joe Rogers run a freight business. At the Long Branch, Sullins, a trail boss, sits with Elsa. McLane has designs on Elsa also. At Delmonico’s McLane invites himself to Elsa’s table. Elsa tells him she’s waiting for someone. Charlie walks in Elsa calls to him. She invites him to sit down. He buys her dinner. McLane fights Sullins over Elsa. Charlie breaks it up. Matt asks Elsa about McLane and Sullins, and asks her not to encourage them. No problem she replies. Doc asks Sullins how’s the eye. Charlie comes to see Elsa. McLane sees Charlie and Elsa riding off for a picnic. Ross loaned Quint the money to get started. Charlie asks Elsa to marry. McLane bothers Elsa.
