In a stage hold up by four men, Downey shoots the driver, against the plans of Silva who watches from a hill. Silva says thy’re heading 200 miles south to Dodge. Silva leaves Downey out in the middle of no where with no boots, gun or horse. Henry Squires and his grandson Little Bit are going to St. Joe to pick a prize hereford and two heifers. On the train ride back to Dodge, two of holdup guys, Kearny and Wade get into the car with Henry and the cattle. In a gunfight Henry kills Kearny and wings Wade who jumps off. Silva sees the cattle in town and talks to Henry, who tells him they’re leaving at first light. Silva and Dodd are going to hold up the Dodge House. Polk and Wade are to steal the cattle. Polk figures he’s been double crossed. Wade shoots at Little Bit. Little Bit shoots at the hooves of Wade’s horse. Wade is thrown and hits his head on a rock.
